It’s time for this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.  Our ultimate goal, A CURE!!

I have been inspired & encouraged by so many cancer SURVIVORS this year!!

Katie, in spite of all her new cancer hurdles, continues to fight with such vigor for her life, so she can be here for her kids and family.

Marsha, celebrated her 5^th Birthday of being cancer free, and has devoted much of her time and talent to creating a world with more birthdays for everyone with her efforts.

My new friend Jenny, while not officially able to work due to cancer treatment, is providing pro bono legal assistance so she can stay active and help others.

Lynnette, who I met via an article regarding her participation in a cancer survivors’ climb of Mt. Everest, reached new heights then took a job with the American Cancer Society to help others fighting cancer.

And of course my friend Victoria, who is celebrating 11 years of cancer survivorship!

We each have to take care of ourselves as best we can, but as human beings, I believe we’re meant to navigate through life together.  Let’s band together to find a cure TODAY!

That felt like a quick year!

2010 was an amazing but quick year.  Maybe it was because I was traveling for the first quarter of it in South America and Antarctica (click on travel blog to view stories and photos that interest you).  Returning to San Diego was great as well.  I enjoyed catching up with friends and running both a Relay for Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaigns.  Click on photos to see how much fun we had.  THANK YOU to so many of you who supported those campaigns with time and money and helped me to raise over $100,000 this year in support of the American Cancer Society’s Mission to eliminate cancer as a major health threat.  We are helping people to get well, stay well and have more Birthdays!  I also enjoyed some great fundraiser events for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, COMPASS Family Center, Home Start and the MS Society. 

This year I am again thankful for my mental and physical health and the ability to go traveling to fun places with great friends.  I am so blessed with amazing family and friends in my life and I hope that you are cherishing the people in your life.

Now you see me, now you don’t; it’s time to travel….

I’m headed Down Under; it’s off to Australia and New Zealand through February.  Do you know anyone in either Country I can meet up with?  First 2 weeks in Perth mostly on my own, then over to Sydney to meet Bonnie and Lyn, travel and attend Bonnie’s daughter Shanna & Daniel’s wedding.  In mid Jan. Don from San Diego and Paula from MA will meet me in New Zealand for 2 weeks, then they do a handoff with Julie from San Diego who will complete the last 2 weeks of my trip with me.  

If you know anybody fun in those parts, contact me and let me know.  Watch for my travel blog updates (when I can pull myself away fron the kangaroos, koalas, repelling, glaciers and relaxing).  If you friend me on facebook, you will see my wall posts when the blog is updated, otherwise you just have to think of me and go to travel blog.

What a year!

2009 has been another blessed year for me; I hope that it also has been for you.  I have been so fortunate to be able to volunteer full-time and have my good health and the support of my loving family and many friends all over the country.  Read about my 2009 Making Strides Results, see photos and learn how “Stacy’s Circle of Friends” raised over $150,000 in the fight against breast cancer.

Year-end always brings reflections and this year is no different.  I am so very thankful for all the lovely people in my life and for the joy they bring.  For me, it really is all about the people, and I’m so happy to have you in my Circle of Friends.

Where in the World is Stacy?

This year has brought about significant changes and a hankering for some traveling adventures.  In September, I purged and packed and temporarily moved in with a friend in Encinitas and now I’m ready to travel!  I’m fortunate to have the opportunity and ability to go and explore other parts of the world, and it’s time for me to “seize the moment!”  Visit my travel blog to read more about my adventures that will begin on December 10^th.  “Fan me on Facebook” to see “Wall posts” whenever I update my blog.  If you know anybody fun in those parts, contact me and let me know.
