Stacy Matseas has been an energetic American Cancer Society (ACS) volunteer since 2000, after her childhood friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has partnered with the ACS in a variety of capacities locally and statewide, and she has been the #1 individual National fundraiser for the ACS’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event (MSABC) for many years. In 2008 she raised a record breaking $122,500. Since October of 2000, she has personally raised more than $577,000 for ACS and has motivated and led her team, Stacy’s Circle of Friends, in raising more than $835,000 to date. Stacy serves on the ACS California Division Board of Directors.
In addition to MSABC, Stacy is a Road to Recovery driver (driving cancer patients to/from treatment), Daffodil Days volunteer, Relay for Life sponsor, team leader and fundraiser and is often called upon as a media spokesperson. In December 2006, Stacy was awarded the ACS Volunteer of the Year Award for San Diego County for her dedication to the organization and its mission, including her vision, establishment and leadership of its San Diego Champions Committee.
Stacy enjoyed a 15-year career as Director of Stock Administration at QUALCOMM Incorporated. Until her departure from QUALCOMM in 2003, for over a decade, Stacy co-led the most successful local Stock Administration Software User’s group in the Nation, which she co-founded.
Stacy currently serves in a variety of capacities on a number of local non-profit organizations and is a member of the San Diego Women’s Foundation. Stacy enjoys cultivating positive relationships and encourages people to find and follow their passion and she takes pride in connecting people with opportunities to get involved and make a difference. Stacy was blessed to be raised in a supportive family in Lowell, MA and she has been a resident of San Diego, CA for over 20 years.
